The NFL Pro Bowl game has become one of the most hated nights by football fans. Back in the day, this All-Star game used to mean something. But now it is seen as a night off by the players. The fans despise the game altogether.

The NBA All-Star game is celebrated like a festival. There are events leading up to the game all week long. It has become an important date in the sporting calendar. Unlike the NFL Pro Bowl, the fans are actually hyped for the All-Star game every year. And this hype only seems to get bigger and bigger every season.
The failure of the NFL Pro Bowl
The main thing that hurts the NFL Pro Bowl is the lack of effort and enthusiasm of the players. The league selects the best of the best to participate in the game every year. Theoretically, it should be the biggest game of the year after the Super Bowl.
But unfortunately, the game has lost its charm over the years. It has become the shadow of its former self. The players treat it like a walkthrough. They see it as nothing more than an exhibition match between the AFC and NFC.

The other factor hurting the reputation of the game is the number of players that just opt out. This season alone 21 Pro Bowl were replaced. Some were playing in the Super Bowl in the following week. Some players walked away due to injuries. And many just did not care enough to participate. When you combine the lack of effort with minimum star power, the fans don’t see a good reason to tune in.
NBA All-Star game is still one of the biggest nights in basketball
In comparison to the NFL Pro Bowl, the NBA players are excited about the All-Star game. Not many see a reason to opt out. They even have a celebrity version of the game. The star power is off the roof.

I wonder how the @NFL #ProBowl would go, if they offered #NBA style, $100,000.00 per QUARTER for the team leading at the time?

I think it’d be dope if the NFL pro bowl implemented the same thing as NBA all star game! 2 charities will be awarded 100k each quarter based off who wins the quarter

I'm the biggest NFL fan but watching the NBA tonight and the past Pro Bowl. Nothing compares to the MLB All Star Game. They play Defense and it's more entertaining.
