There’s luck and then there’s Ronnie Rivers’ stroke of good fortune. While the Rams did not have the season they were hoping for, the RB may have made up for the disappointment that was endured. On Saturday, Rivers headed out to Caesars Palace to celebrate his mother’s birthday. 

And the events that followed were indeed a cause for celebration. So, what stroke of luck did Rivers encounter?

Ronnie Rivers has a hand of gold

Ronnie Rivers, a Rams’ roomie, had a base salary of $705,000 in the 2022 season. And much to the shock of the NFL world, the RB quickly added to his wealth in the blink of an eye. While playing three-card poker, he hit the Mega Progressive Jackpot and won $514,837. That’s nearly 80% of his salary.

The rookie RB told Fox5 that he plans on buying a house with his winnings. Rivers, who was initially signed to the Rams’ practice squad before making it to the active roster, had brief stints with the Cardinals and Seahawks. For an undrafted rookie with no guaranteed money, Rivers has done more than well for himself. Here’s how fans reacted to his stroke of luck.

The NFL world couldn’t believe Rivers’ good fortune. Replying to Bleacher Report Betting’s Instagram post, fans took to the comments to express their thoughts. One fan hilariously commented, “That’ll cover Rookie team dinner at least”

After the Rams’ dismal season, Ronnie Rivers will head into the offseason a happy man. According to ESPN, the rookie is set to earn $870,000 in 2023. If the Rams utilize the running back more in the upcoming season, Rivers will truly be in for an unforgettable year.
