Dan Snyder might be all set to sell the Washington Commanders franchise, but he continues to be a source of great drama in the NFL. Jerry Jones is adamant that he knows the contents of an investigation into Snyder’s conduct as an owner. He has even endorsed the release of the said report. But the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has a different idea than the Dallas Cowboys owner. In fact, he has silenced the 80-year-old billionaire over his interference in the matter.

The relationship between Snyder and Jones has soured a bit in recent times. Jones admits to the fact that rapport between the two owners isn’t what it used to be.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had a message for Jerry Jones as the Dan Snyder drama rages on. During a recent press meet, Goodell heard the 80-year-old’s claims of knowing the contents of the investigation report about Snyder. And he instantly silenced the Cowboys owner with a short answer.

“That would be impossible since the only person I know of who knows anything about the investigation is Mary Jo White,” Goodell said, according to Darren Haynes.

The NFL investigation led by attorney Jo White is looking into charges of sexual misconduct against the embattled Washington Commanders owner. A previous investigation led to a $10 million fine on Snyder. But new accusations by a former franchise employee led to the NFL hiring the former US Securities and Exchange Commission chair to look into the matter. And Goodell is comfortable with her professionalism.

Many in the inner NFL circles say that Jones has been a sort of mentor to Snyder. The two have shared a big amount of time as the owners of the two NFC East competitors. But Jones has admitted that the relationship isn’t what it used to be.

Jerry Jones described his relationship with Dan Snyder as a lot more formal one. But he denied that it is strained in any way. Speaking at the NFL Owners meeting in Phoenix, the Cowboys owner gave a reason for the relationship turning a bit sour.

“I think it’s a lot more formal. But I think it’s that way because of the various issues that are involved here. So, it’s not lovey-dovey, but it’s not really strained in any way,” Jones told the reporters.

He might not have to deal with the formality soon as Snyder is preparing to leave the owners’ table. According to reports, two bids have gone in for the Commanders franchise which is in the region of $6 billion. That would mean that Snyder will see through the biggest franchise sale in NFL history if everything falls in its place. But according to Roger Goodell, the sale will not impact the Mary Jo White investigation.
