He was replaced by an enthusiastic Jordan Love. Unfortunately, the Packers’ added one more to their piling list of defeats. Rodgers spoke to the press after the game and said that he would be awaiting test results to confirm the extent of the injury.

Aaron Rodgers weathers through injuries

Rodgers revealed more about what happened against the Eagles. While speaking to Pat McAfee later, the quarterback had more insight about his injuries. He said, “…there was an earlier shot in the game that kind of rattled the rib cage and I was trying to stretch some things out at halftime a little bit and realized it probably wasn’t some sort of muscle  injury, and then just got hit again in third quarter.” Rodgers remarked that he was having a hard time breathing. The quarterback said that he prided himself on not leaving games and has played through a lot of injuries over the years. Some of those injuries have come to public notice but some have not received attention.

Rodgers also stated that he was in considerable pain and wanted to make sure his injury was not very serious. The former MVP remarked about seeing Randall Cobb’s serious injury. He said, ” . . .that was pretty scary, and you know I’ve heard some other stories as well so I just want to make sure that wasn’t the case.” The quarterback also mentioned that he would talk about the results of some x-rays after the season ends. Rodgers and the Packers have a long road ahead

While Rodgers’ fears of a punctured lung were thankfully ruled out, there are other things that are worrisome. Rodgers has been hiding a broken thumb for the majority of the season until recently. But the quarterback is a trooper, and more importantly not a quitter. He hasn’t missed games because of the injury and stated that he is not considering surgery at the moment.

But, the Packers aren’t having a great season. They have lost seven of their last eight games, which is a shocking fall from grace. The quarterback reminded viewers that the Packers aren’t eliminated (yet) on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Tuesday. While Rodgers’ optimism is admirable, the Packers stand at 4-8. If there is a chance for the team to clinch a spot in the postseason, Rodgers and the Packers have their work cut out for them in their upcoming games.
