After an underwhelming game, the Green Bay Packers’ leading quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, talked about his team’s performance. Green Bay barely won against the New England Patriots on Sunday’s overtime win by a score of 27-24. He thought the Packers’ winning strategy was unsustainable because it put too much strain on the defense. However, he later had to clear out and explain what he truly meant, as many took A-Rod’s comment out of context.

The second half of the game against the Patriots did not go quite well for the MVP-winning QB. The 38-year-old experienced a below-average start against the Patriots. Rodgers completed just 4 of 11 passes for 44 yards and a pick-six late in the first half, garnering a dismal passer rating of 11.2 overall.
While talking to Osi Umenyiora of the NFL’s UK media department, Rodgers tried to explain how people may interpret comments. Also, explained that fans missed the big picture.
“Comments get taken out of context, and then they get posted as if that was the entire quote,” Rodgers said. “That was not the quote. The quote was talking about a certain way of playing. I was referring to the fact that we haven’t put together a four-quarter game. I don’t think playing half a game well is sustainable to win football games in this league every single week.”
Aaron Rodgers’ lukewarm performance against New England
After Aaron Rodgers scored his lowest passer rating (11.2) in any of the 210 games he started, the second half saw a slow but steady comeback from the shot-callers side.
Rodgers improved in the second half and overtime, finishing with two touchdown passes and a passer rating of 124.8. In the second half, the Packers were successful in opening up the field. In the second quarter, Rodgers went 7-of-9 throwing, improving from the previous two quarters when he only completed 1 of 5 throws with 10+ air yards.

“I settled in and usually don’t have two terrible halves,” Rodgers said. “So I kind of returned to the form I expect from myself, and we started moving the football.”
Although Rodgers and his team defeated the Patriots, he talked openly about where the team lacked and where they could have been better. Now, in a foreign land, the Green Bay Packers will face the New York Giants.
