It seems like the Damar Hamlin incident ended up causing some trouble between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills. After Hamlin had to be rushed to the hospital, the Bills-Bengals game had to be stopped. The NFL was not able to reschedule the game and canceled it. While this seems like it was the only logical course of action at the time, canceling that game had some minor repercussions. It obviously had an impact on the Bills’ schedule. However, it also impacted the Bengals’ schedule. Furthermore, the teams met again in the playoffs where the Bengals eliminated the Bills. This has now caused friction between the players of both teams.
It seems like a Twitter war is brewing between two players of the Bills and the Bengals. Eli Apple, the Bengals cornerback, and Shaq Lawson, the Bills’ defensive end, have been going at it. They have exchanged words that might strike a chord for each other.

Eli Apple has been pretty active on Twitter. Before his war of words with Shaq Lawson, the cornerback was trolling Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs for an apparent fight they had had during their playoff game. This had escalated into a full-on Twitter war with both teams’ players taking snipes at each other.
After Apple took a dig at Diggs, Shaq Lawson also went on to take a dig at Apple. He took to a tweet to threaten him and specified that Apple’s behavior is one that can get him injured.
You played a good game @EliApple but disrespect my boy @HamlinIsland situation that shit get you beat up frfr. Keep it on the field.

However, Apple went on to fire back at Lawson with his own snarky comeback. He took a jab at Lawson and the whole Bills team for their performance.
A shame you couldn’t keep that same energy on the field maybe the outcome would’ve been different 🤷🏿♂️ enjoy Mexico wit the homies https://t.co/RvBeSChl5T

It seems like the Bills’ players believe that Apple might be making slight of the Damar Hamlin incident to troll the Bills. However, Apple himself has specified that he has no such intentions. It seems like he simply has been trolling the Bills’ team for their loss.
Eli Apple’s clarification on the Hamlin incident
While the Twitter war seems like a light reason to fight, Apple has made his emotions toward Hamlin very clear. In the midst of a war of words, it is easy to get carried away. However, it seems like Apple made sure he does not hurt anyone’s sentiments in a serious manner.
All love thoughts prayers and concerns to @HamlinIsland as he continues to recover from that tragic incident. Never would I make light of that scary unfortunate scene. This game is truly a dangerous risk to our bodies mind and spirit. Nothing but love to all my football brothers

Interestingly, his tweet came in the middle of the Twitter war that has been going on in the middle players of both teams. There were accusations thrown around that indicated that Apple might not be sensitive to the Damar Hamlin situation and it seems like Apple was eager to make sure his jokes were taken as they were meant to be taken.
While the Twitter war has been going off, it seems like players from both teams are trying to make it clear that they are not including the Hamlin incident. However, only time will tell how far this Twitter war will go.
