DK Metcalf recalls the 2019 draft disappointment

During a recent interview with Colin Cowherd for ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ show, the sports media personality praised Metcalf for possessing a sense of dedication and seriousness to the sport he plays. He talked about Metcalf being all in as he plays his 5th season in the NFL with the Seahawks. Cowherd further went on to ask how did the WR feel when teams did not select him on the first day of the Draft.
Metcalf said,” I went to the draft and got passed over. So I was in the back, waiting the whole night to hear my name called. And you know, when I didn’t hear it called, that night was tough for me. I went home the next morning and spent time with my family. And by the grace of God, I got my name called on the second day. But yeah, I carried that with me every day. Still to this day while working out I always think about it.”

Teams overlooked Metcalf in the 2019 Draft, despite his high first-round prospect status. As the years have gone by, the WR has shown his worth and talent for the Seahawks on the field.
Revisiting Metcalf’s Draft Days
During the 2019 NFL Draft, DK Metcalf was a prospect in the NFL who was expected to make it into the top 10. He even put on an impressive performance in the NFL combine as he ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. Despite being projected to be an early pick, they did not select the former Ole Miss WR in the first round. In the end, the Seahawks picked up Metcalf in the second round as a 64th overall pick.

As the years passed by, he is now regarded as one of the players to watch out for whenever he takes to the field.
