Aaron Rodgers isn’t ready to buy it! The 38-year-old superstar, in the Joe Ragon Podcast, talked about the concussion comment made by Hall of Fame Brett Favre. Rodgers shared his views on the comment during the show. 

 The NFL icon feels Favre made an exaggeration while talking about concussion rules. Interestingly, the 52-year-old former QB said he suffered thousands of concussions in his playing days. The Hall of Famer said he played when NFL rules were not prone to player safety and sensitivity.

He believes it was the reason behind the issue not being highlighted in his playing days. 

Aaron Rodgers and his take on injury management

Aaron Rodgers owns a hyperbaric chamber and follows a rigorous diet. Hard workouts keep him fit and going. The 38-year-old superstar considers injuries and hits as part and parcel of the game. The experienced QB recently revealed that he stands at a phase in his career where he can not afford to take a light stand on the injuries.

As a result, the Packers star is taking appropriate precautions and suggested team members get used to hard workouts and keep their bodies strong. Meanwhile, the team has deployed new methods in their training in line with what Rodgers has suggested.

CTE and rising awareness of players about safety

Incidentally, a lot of former NFL players suffer from CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). Colts tight end John Mackey died in July 2011. Former Raiders QB, Ken Stabler passed away in 2016. It was later pronounced that he was a victim of CTE.

However, of late, NFL organizers adopt a word of caution regarding the safety of the players. As a result, there is a rising awareness in areas like soft plays, where the opposition respects the health and stamina of a player. This marks a more mature and sporting gesture, in an aggressive sport like football, say experts and fans. In the end, the health and well-being of players matter a lot. Thus, NFL authorities and players are aware of the responsibility to play with safety.
