However, there might be some doubt raised on that particular call.

However, after making the Super Bowl once more, it seems like there is once again some slander. An NFC defensive coach shared this with The Athletic’s Mike Sando on the unnecessary roughness call late in the AFCCG involving #Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes…

Fans react to Mahomes slander
Fans had some interesting reactions to the slander. One fan spoke about how even a ‘flop’ would be normal.
What NFL QB isn't going to try and draw the flag in that situation?

Furthermore, this fan mentioned the low credibility behind the actual source.
An "anonymous" coach means someone who's too much of a coward to take ownership of his comment.#ChiefsKingdom

Additionally, there were speculations on who the anonymous source was.
Sounds like someone lost to the Chiefs this year…

However, there were also some slanderous comments replying to the anonymous source.
You must be an unemployed defensive coordinator! The hit on Mahomes was unnecessary and totally illegal! But Thank You for your lapse in sanity!

Fans also questioned the authority of the anonymous source.
And what loser does this D-Coach work for?
— Louis E Davis (@ledavis71) January 31, 2023
There were some speculations on who exactly this was.
Probably a whiny ass Bengals coach!!! He was two feet out of bounds!
— Handy Randy (@RandyCarltonsr) February 1, 2023
Finally, this fan sincerely explained how it was not a wrong call.
Idk if that was a flop he sold it hard. I imagined if you’re running full speed on a bad ankle and you try to stop but someone much larger than you pushes you, you just might fall to the ground and get hurt. Especially if the push was unnecessary. If only we had a name 4that

Clearly a late hit out of bounds! A big time Rookie mistake. Not a flop at all. The only QB in the NFL that’s protected more than anyone else in the league is Tom Brady. You barely even touch him and it draws a flag. Rookie mistake caused the Bengals to lose fair and square.
