The former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has shared a heartfelt message for the city of Philadelphia and his team and staff members ahead of his departure to Arizona.

This past week has been the toughest for the 30-year-old to deal with emotionally. He admitted to crying in the locker room after his last game against the Buccaneers at Lincoln Financial Field. He failed to seal a win before leaving the field as an Eagle for the last time, but did seal loads of memories.

Zach Ertz bids adieu to Philly

Ertz, though looking forward to a progressive turn in his career, finds it hard to move on from the franchise after sharing lots of memories with them. From getting drafted in 2013 to winning the Super Bowl in 2018. He has been with the franchise through thick and thin.

Ertz materialized his emotions on Tuesday after he shared a heartfelt letter addressed to the city of Philadelphia. He mentioned how he has grown up as an individual by receiving loads of support and love from the city.

The former Philly tight end acknowledged everyone in his letter from the owner, Jeffrey Lurie, to the equipment staff, naming possibly everyone who operated in his vicinity. And last but not least, he thanked the people of Philadelphia for their commitment and belief in the team.

The end of a partnership

Ertz was traded to the Arizona Cardinals on Friday for cornerback Tay Gowan and a 2022 fifth-round pick. And ever since that day, he has been in complete distress. “The city that adopted a young rookie and, through so many life events and memories, raised the same rookie to be a veteran,” Zach wrote in his letter.
