Sanders had to tackle another battle on Thursday. After undergoing a grueling emergency on his left leg last month to relieve the blood clots and to evade the risk of an amputation, the Coach underwent another surgery, a follow-up to the previous one. A few days ago, Sanders shared the news of the impending operation on his Instagram appearing with a physician, confirming he would undergo “a couple of surgeries” on Thursday to remove another blot clot, this time in his right leg.
Following the multi-hour surgery, Sanders’ partner Tracey Edmonds took to her Instagram to share the joyful news of the Coach’s successful procedure to the duo’s combined followers of 3.75 million.

The second surgery was aimed at removing the blood clots in his right leg and also straightening two of the remaining toes on his troubled left foot.
Sanders appeared cheerful in the Instagram clip, as usual, while explaining the procedure. He even apologized for not being able to make it to the Pac-12 Conference’s annual football media day in Las Vegas which was scheduled for Friday.

Against all odds
Sanders’ health battle began back in 2021 while coaching at Jackson State when he was hospitalized after facing complications due to a dislocated toe surgery. He went through a tough time experiencing multiple blood clots which led him to miss three games. His two toes also got amputated at the time.
Coach’s doctors initially prescribed a left foot amputation to spare him from future complications, an idea Sanders refused.“There is no talk of amputation. There’s no talk of any of that whatsoever,” he said. Later the surgery was redirected at relieving the blood clot so that his remaining toes could be cured.
