When a debate is spawned about the best burgers in the country, Whataburger is one among the few to secure a special place in the hearts of every American. Even though Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones are on the opposite sides of the field, they share similar interests in Hamburgers. And no doubt, the Texas treasure happens to be their first and the last choice. Interestingly, the Chiefs signal-caller has opened a new way for the KC fans to enjoy their QBs favorite burgers.
The fast-food chain Whataburger boasts 670 stores in the state and over 150 outlets in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and the southern US. After Patrick Mahomes left for Missouri completing a brief stint in Texas Tech, the QB had to sacrifice his favorite snack.

However, the 26-year-old found an alternative solution by opening the first of the many Whataburger outlets in Kansas City along with his business venture, KMO burger. “As part of KMO Burger, I am excited our team is opening our first location in Kansas City,” Mahomes said in a press release.
“It’s great to bring a gift from my first home to my second home,” he added. Similarly, this snack is also fancied by Jerry Jones, who has openly expressed his love for these burgers. “I like it untouched. I don’t care if it’s been sitting out for an hour and a half.” Jones said in an episode of Hard Knocks last Summer.
The history behind Patrick Mahomes and Jerry Jones’ favorite Whataburger
Having its roots in Texas, the food chain was founded by Harmon Dobson and Paul Burton in 1950. Over the years, it became a beloved brand among the people of Texas and scaled to more parts of the country. The business was family-owned until 2019. But times have changed now and only a small proportion of stakes are owned by the founders.
