Week 3 of college football was an exhilarating roller coaster of excitement! With a lineup of 18 games, all eyes were on Deion Sanders as he geared up to lead his team against CSU after two back-to-back victories. The rivalry hit a fever pitch when the opposing head coach, Jay Norvell, delivered an unexpected jab at Coach Prime, which instantly became the talk of the town.

Norvell’s statement emphasized his practice of taking off his hat and sunglasses when speaking to the press as a gesture of respect, a lesson instilled in him by his mother. This comment directly hit home for Sanders, who is renowned for his bold jewelry and flashy shades, even during press conferences.

After a spirited response to Norvell’s comments, CU faced off against CSU on their home turf, initially giving them the advantage. However, the Rams dominated on the gridiron, maintaining a lead for most of the quarters. In the first half, they held a 7-point lead following a flawless pass from Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi to Louis Brown IV, resulting in a 15-yard touchdown. Sanders then shared his sentiments in a post-first-half interview.

Speaking with an ESPN reporter right on the gridiron, Sanders appeared somewhat unbothered and tensed at the same time by the deficit. Although he wasn’t wearing his trademark sunglasses that had drawn criticism, his striking 22-carat gold cross chain gleamed on his chest. Prime emphasized the need for the offense to step up, which had held them back thus far. Penalties were also a concern, but he remained determined to achieve results in the second half.

CU followed it up with a successful 41-yard field goal, and it was then their turn to mount a comeback. That’s when Shedeur stepped up to the plate, connecting with Jimmy Horn Jr. for an electrifying 45-yard receiving touchdown.
