Week eight of the NFL 2021 season has gotten off to an electric start. The first electric play came from an unlikely person in an unlikely position. In Tennessee Titans’ opening drive, superstar TE Derrick Henry threw a beautiful touchdown pass. Opening the scoring against the Chiefs in beautiful fashion, Henry just lit up Tight End Day.

Derrick Henry continues to wow in the 2021 NFL season

Derrick Henry was in special form against Kansas City Chiefs. Before the tight end scored a regular touchdown, he shocked the world by throwing a touchdown pass. Yes, you heard that right. Derrick Henry threw the perfect touchdown pass, caught and converted by Michael MyCole Pruitt.

Taking over the quarterback role from Ryan Tannehill, Henry did something magical. Tannehill ran left, making room for Henry to loft a decent pass to Pruitt. He didn’t look fazed at all, with Pruitt comfortably cushioning the ball in his hands. On a day as special as ‘Tight End Day‘, Henry did something very special.

Scoring on the opening drive put pressure on Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes could only watch from the sidelines as the Titans scored the first six points. Mahomes and Co did not score a single point in the first half of the game. They managed three points via a Harrison Butker field goal.

The Chiefs’ poor attack became their defense’s undoing, allowing Tennessee Titans to make their move. And oh boy, did they make their move. Ryan Tannehill also picked up a touchdown pass, and AJ Brown was always there to convert six points. Darrynton Evans intercepted a pass from Patrick Mahomes, adding another number in that dreaded column for the Chiefs QB.
