Since joining Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017, Chris Godwin has been an ever-present threat in the NFC. The former Penn State player has a strong rapport with fellow wide receiver and teammate, Mike Evans. During his 4-year stay in Florida, Godwin has 3,540 receiving yards and 24 receiving touchdowns to his name.
The 25-year-old was one of the key performers for the Buccaneers as they won the Super Bowl LV title at the Raymond James Stadium earlier this year in February.

Chris Godwin gets candid with Kyle Brandt
The arrival of Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, certainly elevated the team to new heights last season. However, it was the consistency of their already existing offensive weapons such as Evans and Godwin that helped them put together a Super Bowl run. But prior to that, Godwin was not that big of a superstar during his college football days.
Chris spent 3 years playing for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He previously said that playing at the Beaver Stadium on the campus of Pennsylvania State University was something that he’d never forget.
When questioned by GMFB’s Kyle Brandt about the other life-defining moments of his career, here’s what Godwin replied.
“At this point, it’s winning the Super Bowl, and the day I proposed to my fiance. That’s gotta be top 3,” Godwin said on The Ringer podcast.
While his experiences at Penn State and the recent Super Bowl LV triumph are obvious answers to a question like that, it was pleasant to see Godwin mention his soon-to-be wife as well. Chris and high-school sweetheart, Mariah, will tie the knot in the coming months.
