Linebacker Shaquil Barrett has enjoyed Super Bowl success twice over the course of his career so far. First with the Denver Broncos back in 2015 and more recently with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.
Back in Denver as well, Barrett was fortunate enough to play with one of the all-time greats of the sport. Led by quarterback Peyton Manning, Barrett has had the honor of playing with two of the best the NFL has ever seen.
The conversation of who is the better quarterback – Manning or Brady – has raged on for years. While that remains a conversation for another day, Barrett recently highlighted what is the key differentiator that separates the two quarterbacks.

Gushing with compliments for his quarterback, the linebacker said that the desire and intensity that Brady brings to the field is unparalleled. Something that not even Peyton Manning could compete with.
“I love the desire that he (Brady) plays with on the field. And I think that might be the only difference between Peyton and Tom. You can see the fire in Tom Brady on the field while Peyton was more laid back.”
Talking further about how it feels like to have Tom Brady as his teammate, the linebacker said that despite the intensity the QB brings with his game, it’s his ability to stay cool under pressure that helps him excel.
“It feels good. Tom Brady in every situation possible is always going to maintain his cool. He always wants to pretty much make the best play and put us in positions to succeed and that’s what he’s been doing game in, game out,” he said.
“So having that veteran leadership out there on the field and off it is just amazing. His personality in the locker room is cool,” he added.
Barrett was one of the 22 starters for the Bucs in their Super Bowl game last season. And as we all know by now, all 22 including Barrett have been retained by the franchise for next season.
