The Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich has done a remarkable job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His coaching abilities have been touching new highs every season. And many of his peers believe that he very much deserves the role of a head coach, which is now open in the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Although, Byron has some other commitments planned. “I’m just trying to win a division,” Leftwich said per ESPN’s Jenna Laine. His commitment to the franchise made him walk away when asked about taking up the Jaguars opening. And the smile on his face revealed his intentions of staying with the defending champions.

Byron Leftwich is not interested in taking up the head coach job
“I was very, very pissed that Byron didn’t at least get an interview this year,” Arians said per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “… I think I get way too much credit and so does Tom Brady for the job that Byron has done. Hopefully next year people will see that he took Jameis Winston and broke every single record here, scoring and passing, and now Tom has broken both. He’s done a fantastic job, he’s everything supposedly what people are looking for.”
This was just after Bucs PR said “last question…”

Rumors of Leftwich taking up the Jacksonville job persisted since the time head coach Urban Meyer let go of the position. After a number of controversies, Urban Meyer was let go as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he eventually lost the support of his peers.

It’s still in question whether Leftwich will take up the job or not. Although his skill set as a coach makes him a good contender for the position. He has risen abruptly in the ranks of NFL coaching due to his competence. He went “from an intern under Bruce Arians to the play-caller of the winning team of Super Bowl 55 within five years,” Pro Football Network’s Adam Beasley wrote.
