The Buccaneers dropped to 3-3 this season after their defeat against the Steelers. Pittsburgh on the other hand, recovered from a four-game losing streak.
Tom Brady and the Bucs’ sub-par performance
Tom Brady was unusually out of form, completing only 25 of 40 passes during the game.
The Steelers, who started with rookie quarterback Kenny Picket while missing three of their cornerbacks, should not have stood a chance against the Buccaneers. Yet, gaps within the Buccaneers’ offensive strategy ensured the Steelers’ first win after four consecutive losses.
Todd Bowles speaks frankly
After their humiliating defeat, the Bucs’ head coach addressed the issues he believes are at hand. Insisting that the team did not take the match against the Steelers lightly, Bowles stated that the team was living in a fantasy land.
“You’ve gotta get your hands dirty and go to work like everybody else. We’ve been working hard and we’ve gotta work harder. Nobody’s gonna give us anything. Nobody’s gonna feel sorry. We’ve gotta go back as coaches, as players..the time for talking is over. You either gotta put up or shut up,” he said.
Bowles went on to clarify that he was not pointing at specific players but was addressing the issue generally. This statement came and soon after, fans on Twitter went on a rampage regarding quarterback Tom Brady’s absence at the Bucs’ walkthrough.
Connecting the dots between the two, one fan commented.

Despite having some big names on the team, the Bucs cannot depend on the performance of a few. At this rate, they cannot afford to rely on past accomplishments if they hope to make the playoffs.
