The Tampa Bay Buccaneers opened their season this Sunday. They made a trip to the AT&T stadium to play the Dallas Cowboys and came away with a victory. At the end of regulation time, the score stood at 3-19 in favor of the Buccaneers. Tom Brady, now entering his 23rd season as a player, looked back at the game and had some honest admissions to make.

Tom Brady threw for 212 yards, completing attempted passes of 18/27. He connected with Mike Evans for one touchdown, on the other hand, throwing one interception as well. While talking about his first match of the season, the quarterback said, “I actually benched myself in my fantasy league.”

The 7 times super bowl champion recently appeared on the podcast: Let’s Go! With Jim Gray. He was asked to share his assessment of the team’s performance against the Cowboys. While they came away with the win, Tom Brady understood that he was ‘rusty’, accepting that he was responsible for the interception where he misread the play. Breaking away from the negatives, he also acknowledged the ‘phenomenal’ job the defense had done.

The 45-year-old is not unaware of ways to deal with bad starts in the season. In Brady’s first match ever for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the New Orleans Saints, he threw two interceptions. However, the following season ended up winning the super bowl with the team. While talking to Jim Gray, the player states that even though he benched himself in his fantasy league, he still might bring himself back this coming week.

What the next week holds for Tom Brady-led Buccaneers

Tampa Bay will be going to the Mercedes Benz Dome to play against their divisional rivals, New Orleans Saints. The teams have come head-to-head 59 times in the regular season, where the Saints have maintained a winning record. This match already seems like an uphill battle for a depleted squad struggling from injuries.
