The former Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is a top prospect in the 2022 free agency. After he incurred a torn ACL in the Super Bowl, the receiver is on the path to recovery and is expected to miss nearly half of the upcoming season.

After completing a brief stint at Cleveland, the Rams signed OBJ in 2021. However, the Louisiana native revealed his likes were always playing for the New England Patriots under the leadership of QB Tom Brady.

But during that time, Brady was busy building a formidable side for the Buccaneers, and his former HC Bill Belichick was grooming the Patriots’ rookie signal-caller, Mac Jones. In an interview, OBJ mentioned he was very close to signing a contract with the Patriots, but Brady’s absence changed his mind. “Very. Very, very, very close” Beckham said.

“I don’t think I joked with [Belichick] on the phone, but I was like, ‘You know, if this was three years ago, it would’ve been ideal.’ Because Tom is one of them, he’s one of my favorites.” he added.

Even though OBJ’s record against Tom Brady hasn’t been that impressive, he was on the same side that slew the Brady-led Buccaneers with a narrow margin in the divisional playoffs last season. The reigning Super Bowl Champion showcased a hall of fame-worthy career during his tenure with the Giants, Browns, and the Rams.

Two years back, when the reporters asked OBJ about his willingness to play for Tom Brady, he said, “That was always a dream of mine to play for Tom Brady, Tom Brady and Belichick. Tom and I talked for two or three years like, ‘If it happens, it happens, and it would be cool,'”.

Similarly, OBJ and Brady happen to showcase aggressive play on the field. Both are known for making unrealistic comebacks. The duo would make a great combination wearing the same jersey.
