It is always an achievement for youngsters to get a selection and play the sport at this level. For some players, this might be their destiny. However, Kupp has a special message for such athletes. “The draft is not the arrival, it’s the departure. Go to work!” Kupp wrote on Twitter.

According to him, getting drafted into the NFL is not just the beginning of their career but the last opportunity to sustain & carry forward their past achievements.

A wise piece of thought comes from the legend itself. When Kupp was selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, he was already an accomplished player. That year’s class was packed with star-wide receivers, and Kupp was one of them. Playing for more than five seasons, Kupp became an irreplaceable offensive player for the team.

Cooper Kupp doesn’t want to compete with other wide receivers in the market

The star is coming off a season in which he was named Super Bowl MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. However, the stakes are high for a player like Kupp while offering a contract extension. It is so because this off-season was a trendsetter for the wide receivers bagging lucrative deals from the speed-hungry clubs.

With the Las Vegas Raiders’ Davante Adams ($28.5 million per season) and the Miami Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill ($30 million per season) each signing record-setting deals, Cooper Kupp is speculated to receive one such deal.

However, the Super Bowl Champion says he doesn’t want to compete with anybody. “I don’t think that’s kind of the approach that I take,” he said. “I think there’s a place you want to be. There’s a place that you feel is fair. A place for me and this organization. I’m not trying to beat anybody. I’m not trying to compare myself to anyone else. It’s more about being in a place that’s just right for both sides.” Kupp said, according to ESPN.
