Last year, JuJu Smith-Schuster overcame what seemed to be a season-ending shoulder injury to rebound in time for the playoffs. This time of year, certain contracts become overblown. The Pittsburgh Steelers promptly wiped the receiver towards the Arrowhead Stadium.
The Kansas City Chiefs have signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, one of the most popular Steelers players. The new Chiefs WR’s contract was once said to be as a one-year, double-digit deal in millions, which was spoon-fed to many media portals. However, the accurate figure is much lower. Free-agent NFL pro and Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman also reacted to the new information.

A year ago, he was on the verge of joining the Chiefs. He’s now officially packing his belongings for a trip to Kansas City.
The new contract sum is relatively surprising
According to a source familiar with the agreement, the base value is a mere $3.25 million. Only $2.49 million is fully guaranteed at the time of signing. JuJu Smith-Schuster gets a $1.455 million signing bonus and a $1.035 million basic salary that’s fully guaranteed. A workout bonus of $250,000 and per-game roster bonuses of $30,000 each game, up to $510,000, makes up the balance of the base package.
After the news broke, free agent cornerback Richard Sherman, who won a Lombardi alongside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, took to Twitter and has been jokingly asking over the details of the athlete’s agent.
Who is his agent?! Jk lmao https://t.co/oxFzoZUxps

The contract also contains $7.5 million in incentives, with at least $2 million contingent on the Chiefs reaching the AFC Championship game. For the time being, this is the reality. The rumors of a one-year deal worth $10.75 million are false.
Will JuJu Smith-Schuster make an effective comeback?
Smith-Schuster is heading westward after having his weakest campaign like a professional, catching only 15 catches for 129 yards in five games. He’d returned to Pittsburgh on a one-year agreement to go for a championship alongside quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, but injury prevented him from playing a significant part.

When JuJu Smith-Schuster returned for the AFC wild-card game against the Chiefs in January, he startled everybody in the Steelers organization, earning kudos from Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert. In the Steelers’ 42-21 season-ending loss, he had 5 catches for 26 yards.
As part of the Chiefs’ powerful offense, he’ll now begin building up a new bond with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In Kansas City, he’ll possess excellent rushing partners in Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Mecole Hardman, as well as a pass-catching corps that includes Travis Kelce and Mecole Hardman Jr.
