Season-ending rib injuries to Drew Brees in Week 10 meant that Sean Payton would be forced to choose between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill for the remainder of the season. In the end, coach Payton opted to go with the former BYU player Taysom Hill, who has featured frequently this season.
Hill was mostly used as a rushing threat in the final third. The 30-year-old made his start of the season last weekend against NFC South opponents, Atlanta Falcons.
He went 18 of 23, throwing for 233 yards. Hill scored two rushing touchdowns as New Orleans Saints beat the Falcons by a 24-9 scoreline.

Nick Wright gives his two cents on New Orleans star Taysom Hill
"At some point Taysom Hill could prove to me he's a legit NFL starting QB. Could he do it Sunday? Of course not. Ben DiNucci, P.J. Walker & Brandon Allen all have thrown more passes this season than Taysom has in his career." — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/wS5Vz57lk9

On the latest edition of FOX NFL’s First Things First, outspoken American analyst Nick Wright addressed all the hype surrounding Saints quarterback Taysom Hill.
He said, “If the question was can Taysom Hill ever prove to Nick that he’s a legit starting quarterback? Sure. He won’t put ceilings on anybody. If at some point he could prove it to me. Could he do it Sunday? Of course not.
“Here’s a list of names for you. Ben DiNucci, PJ Walker, and Brandon Allen…because all those guys have thrown more passes this season than Taysom has in his career.
“And all those guys thankfully also played full-time quarterback in college. Taysom kind of did miss a couple of years with injury.

“You have Sean Payton game planning a baby-proofed offense, and your biggest pass of the game was an awful throw his 15 yards underthrown that Emmanuel Sanders had to come back and get so no, even if he plays well, Sunday won’t prove he’s a starting quarterback.
“Now. I don’t think he’s going to play well…and I think I’m going to end up looking very smart on this when the taste of mill experiments over but no, one game or a second game could not prove it,” Wright said on the show.
The Saints enter Week 12 with an 8-2 record. They go on the road this Thanksgiving weekend with a high-intensity clash against Denver Broncos at the Sports Authority Field on Sunday.
