Chiefs‘ TE Travis raised a topic for discussion, focusing on potential rule changes. Referring back to previous conversations where the matter was addressed, he expressed the belief that one particular rule modification would have an incredible impact on the game. With an air of anticipation, he sought to gather everyone’s thoughts on the proposal. “We think that there’s one rule that would just make the game unbelievable and we wanted to know what’s your thoughts on. Every single game you give one hockey fight per game?” Travis suggested and continues by adding more, “Hey, drop the gloves, drop the helmet. The first guy I’m going after is Jason f**king Kelce. Yes.”
In a somewhat lighthearted manner, he singled out Jason Kelce as his first target. However, Jason responded affirmatively, indicating support for Travis’ idea. But Travis instantly regrets, “I don’t want that.” When acknowledging the proposal, Roger Goodell commended Travis, “That’s a really good idea, Travis. Really good. No, I’m going to send that to the competition committee,” he assured them that he would forward the suggestion to the competition committee.

Not only is he a hockey fan, but he also has a personal connection to the sport as a former player. In fact, he once contemplated pursuing a professional hockey career in Canada, until his father intervened. It was during his time in eighth grade when a scout from Canadian junior leagues reached out to his father. Meanwhile, Kelce was actively participating in a community league hockey tournament held in Niagara Falls. Despite the enticing prospect of playing hockey in Canada, his father did not wholeheartedly endorse the idea.
In 2019, he donned custom cleats that paid homage to Wayne Gretzky’s skates, showcasing his love for the game. In 2021, Kelce actively participated in the NFL’s ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ initiative.
