Before the training camp starts, the NFL teams are calling all the rookies to attend the Organised Team Activities (OTAs). Green Bay Packers’ first-round OTAs are going on which will continue till June 3. The new WR for the Packers Christian Watson is under observation as he is all set to start for the team. In the OTAs, Watson has been missing out on catches which have become a subject of debate among the NFL fans.

Andy Herman, who is closely observing the Packer’s OTA sessions, posted a tweet that says, “Christian Watson had another drop against the air in drills today. His hands have been questionable. I don’t think there’s been a practice yet where he hasn’t dropped at least one pass.”
As the reporter broke out this news, the supporters of the Green Bay Packers started comparing Watson to Ja’Marr Chase. Cincinnati Bengals selected Chase as the 5th overall pick in the 2021 draft. In the starting season, he struggled with the catches but later went on to win the Rookie of the Year award.
Christian Watson had another drop against air in drills today. His hands have definitely been questionable. I don’t think there’s been a practice yet where he hasn’t dropped at least one pass. Does it matter much? Prob not – but noteworthy at least.

Also, other observers are saying that Packers WR Romeo Doubs, who got selected in the 4th round pick, has been performing much better than Watson. This season, star WR Davante Adams was traded to Las Vegas Raiders by the Packers, and now Watson has the responsibility to assist Packers QB, Aaron Rodgers.
Twitter reactions of fans comparing Christian Watson to Bengals’ WR Ja’Marr Chase
The fans are worrying and are hoping Watson might perform outstandingly, just as Ja’Marr Chase did in the last season. Here are some of the Twitter reactions by football fans.
So, that's why their practicing. Stop knick picking every little thing. Good grief.

Preseason Ja’Marr Chase vs Regular season Ja’Marr Chase…enough said 😎

See JaMarr Chase last year during training camp. The word bust was being thrown around like confetti, and he only had arguably the greatest rookie WR season ever. In no way am I calling Christian Watson JaMarr Chase, but anyone thinking it’s problematic at this point, relax.

Love how everyone in the replies acts like its nothing yet ignore the fact he had issues with drops in college.. sure it can get better but it's obviously something he needs to work on and could end up being costly as some point early in his career.

Watson is no where near the prospect Chase was, and one of Watson’s main concerns were his drops. It’s not the end of the world, and it’s probably not even a big deal at this stage, but I don’t think this situation can be labeled similar to Chase

I remember when chase couldnt catch either lol

That's exactly how Jamarr Chase started in OTAs, training camp and preseason…….🤷♂️we'll see what happens when it matters

Chase had this same storyline all of last preseason, look at how he did. Granted Watson had more drops in college, but until it happens in season or Lafleur or Rodgers comment on it publicly it should not be news worthy.

I want him to succeed, of course, but I love everyone saying "Ja'marr Chase" like that is supposed to mean something. If he is dropping balls at WR than it is something to be worked on, not just rationalized away because "Ja'Marr Chase".

It matters in the sense that Aaron Rodgers is known for not throwing to guys he doesn't trust.

Why are people surprised by this? This is nothing new he was drafted off physical traits not elite hands. He'll be just fine as long as he keeps polishing his route running- Actually not a Packers fan

Watson may someday be a real good pro. Highly doubtful he makes an impact year 1. Rookie WR often don't especially ones considered a bit of a project.

Please note Davante Adam's drops from early in his career. Ball skills and athleticism are there. He will be just fine

The Twitter world wants to give Christian Watson a chance to prove himself. They are comparing his performance with Chase’s, and they are hoping he gets back on track soon.

In the last season, Ja’Marr Chase had a rough start, but by the end of the season, he had 81 catches for 1,455 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He won the Pro Bowl and led his team to the Super Bowl. Will Christian Watson be able to assist Aaron Rodgers in the same way Chase assisted Joe Burrow last season?
