The NFL has charted the rules unanimously and doesn’t wait for anybody for the right circumstances. After all, it’s about giving the punishment, and it seems Shepard received it at the wrong time.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Shepard will have to pay a fine of $10,609 for not showing sportsmanship spirit. He came off the bench to confront the Dallas rookie Sam Williams who hit the Giants quarterback Daniel Jones.

At the very moment, this act cost the team 15 yards, and they were waiting for further punishments, to which Goodell had it his way. In the very same game, another storm hit the franchise after Shepard landed on the grass, suddenly tearing his ACL.
In the video that went viral across social media, the receiver suffered a knee injury in the final offensive play of the game. He was jogging across the field and suddenly grabbed his left knee and fell on the turf. He was taken to the locker room by the medics, and after a series of X-rays, it was confirmed that he incurred a torn ACL, which will potentially wrap up his entire season.

All these events happened on week 3 Monday when the Giants lost 23-16 to the Dallas Cowboys. Shepard’s departure has now thinned the Giants’ receiver corps. Already their Tight End lineup is fragile, and this will certainly prove as a setback for their aspirations. Fans couldn’t control their emotions about the league fining him at the wrong time.
