Deion Sanders, a two-time Super Bowl champion, is facing a serious health challenge with his foot. Despite his condition, Deion is determined to lead the Colorado Buffaloes to a successful season. He took over the head coaching job last December after the team finished with a dismal 1-11 record in 2022. Colorado game changer has a loyal friend in legendary sportscaster, who shares his connection to HBCUs, and recently raised concerns for his friend Deion’s ongoing difficult time.

Deion’s friend has 5.8 million followers on Twitter, showing his respect and sympathy for Sanders, especially in light of Sanders’ health struggles with blood clots and toe amputations. Sanders recently shared some alarming news about his left foot, which is at risk of being amputated due to poor circulation. He gave ‘Thee Pregame Show’ access to film his meeting with his medical team at the University of Colorado, where he is gearing up for his debut season as the head football coach.

Deion Sanders revealed some troubling news about his health in a video he posted on YouTube. Deion said that his doctor discovered a blood clot in each of his legs, one of them in his left thigh. This is the same leg that caused him to lose two toes in 2021 due to blood clot complications when he was coaching at Jackson State. Deion is scheduled to have surgery on Friday to remove the clots and restore the blood flow to his leg, which will hopefully allow him to fix his toes as well. “That’s what’s going on,” he said.

Meanwhile, Stephen A. Smith, a prominent sports journalist and TV personality with over 5.8 million Twitter followers, expressed his support and sympathy for Deion on social media. He wrote: “Thinking about you and love you, bro.” On the other side, Deion also shared that he suffers from ‘hammer toes’ on his left foot, a deformity that causes the toes to bend abnormally at the middle joint.

Sanders lost his two toes in September 2021

Deion Sanders, while coaching at Jackson State University in 2021, experienced a serious leg issue that has been causing him significant problems. This issue originated from the development of blood clots in his left leg, which led to a series of nine surgeries within a short period of time. Among these surgeries was one aimed at treating compartment syndrome, a condition that caused his leg to swell and necessitated fluid drainage.

Due to the blood clots and poor circulation, Deion Sanders, unfortunately, had to face the loss of two toes on his left foot, which also resulted in him missing three games. Deion was absent from the games against Bethune Cookman, Mississippi Valley State, and Texas Southern. He was replaced by his assistant coach Gary Harrell, who led the team to two wins and one loss in those games.
