NFL teams are taking part in the league with just one goal: win. Everything else, all the money they earn is simply a byproduct of that one achievement. Furthermore, a team that wants to reach the promised land needs to bring in players they have faith in. However, what happens if multiple NFL teams don’t have faith in one particular athlete? While some might accuse them of collusion, there is no actual evidence as all they want is a team that shows up and performs. However, in the case of Lamar Jackson, are the teams’ excuses really true?
Lamar Jackson has proven himself to be one of the top-10 quarterbacks in the game today. Not even here for a decade, Jackson has proven himself to be a huge asset for any team he plays on. So what exactly has prompted other teams to shy away from making moves for Jackson?

With the way Jackson plays, it truly is a mystery that there are almost no suitors chasing him. The quarterback’s resume is filled with potential. Jackson truly shares accolades with the stars of the league. He became the second youngest MVP ever to play in the league, second only to NFL legend, Jim Brown. Furthermore, he is the second unanimous MVP of the league, along with the legendary Tom Brady. With accolades so rich, Jackson should have teams waiting to snatch him off the market. However, Jackson hasn’t been picked up by anyone for a seemingly unfair reason.
A few teams (owners included) have discussed Jackson’s case.
One team was hesitant re: number of games/snaps & practices missed last 2 to 3 years vs $$$ invested. Also wonder whether his sleep habits and nutrition contribute to his absences.
Nobody speaks ill of his character.— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) March 27, 2023
It is truly surprising that a team might have such little faith in an MVP of the league. One would’ve expected that teams would be ready to fulfil Jackson’s contract requests so that he can perform to his fullest without any qualms.
Furthermore, fans took to Twitter in outrage to react to such bizarre reasons for not going into the market for Jackson. Twitter truly saw the wrath of fans as they set fire to the social media platform with their scathing remarks.

Jackson fans weren’t happy with the way team owners are justifying not picking up Jackson. One fan just posted a screenshot of Jackson’s success rate as a quarterback.

A lot of comments mentioned Aaron Rodgers and his Ayuhuasca tendencies.

Some fans pointed out the double standards of the league.

Finally, one fan took the example of Watson as a standard and compared Jackson’s situation.

Watson didn’t play at all for 2 years…Lamar should get at minimum what Watson did, and the Ravens should get at minimum what the Texans did in return.

Fans were not very happy with the way the league owners are functioning now. They did not agree with the reasons that implicated that Jackson was inconsistent, especially compared to all the other enigmatic quarterbacks in the league.

With the kind of excuse they’ve given, it is a wonder the league hasn’t faced a higher amount of backlash from fans. It only remains to be seen if any team forgoes these bogus concerns and brings Jackson to their team.
