A clip emerged on Twitter showing Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence throwing a 70-yard dime to a group of players dressed in a similar color combination as the Marvel superheroes, the Avengers.

While the footage may look like a costumed match, it is, in fact, from an event from The Opening, which features school athletes. In a longer video, Lawrence is introduced as playing for Cartersville High School.

The footage shows the QB with the former throwing a well-aimed long throw to a teammate in red, who then sprints for a touchdown pursued by the opposition.

The schoolboy with the big throw

In the clip, a sprinting player in red catches Lawrence’s throw and races away for a touchdown, pursued by a defensive player in blue. The vivid color combinations of the uniforms have led to comments that the players could be the Avengers.

A longer video from 2017 also shows more throws from Lawrence to his teammates. Towards the end of the video, one player celebrates by crawling like Spiderman.

With the skill set displayed in the video and from testimonies from school, many would realize why Lawrence was one of the highest touted college football prospects in the 2021 draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Lawrence first overall in 2021. He was their starting QB for 2021, making his NFL debut against the Houston Texans in a 21–37 defeat.

Lawrence and the Jaguars: the first victory of the 2021 season was the 23-20 victory against the Miami Dolphins. They played it at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lawrence’s rookie season wasn’t the spectacle fans expected. The QB did not thrive under the then coach. He definitely left management and fans impressed with his resilience and showed flashes of his brilliance.

Many expect 2022 to be when Lawrence shows the NFL world what made him so special in the 2021 season.
