Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford has not always been given as much attention for his achievements. He was talked about as the QB who falls short in the big moments. The Rams franchise did have a firm belief in Stafford and his abilities when they did make their move for him. The then Lions QB was portrayed as someone who couldn’t get it done in the postseason. During his 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions, Stafford was 0-3 in the playoffs. The questions about his reliability did emerge. But the 2021 postseason has served as a coming-out party for Stafford and his talented Rams roster.
The Rams QB is coming off two impressive victories and slowly making NFL fans believe in his abilities. Stafford has quickly embraced his new team and did lead them effectively against the San Francisco 49ers.
While speaking about his first Super Bowl appearance, he states, “Long time coming, you know? Spent a lot of years in this league and I’ve loved every minute of it. I feel blessed to be able to play in this league for as long as I have but I sure am happy for this opportunity for not only myself but, really, so many guys in that locker room that deserve this too.”

It was Stafford’s opportunity to show that with a good roster under him, he can play in the big moments. Despite the struggles with a poor Detroit team, he did show his postseason pedigree against QBs Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo. It was a win-now move by the franchise hierarchy to make the push after the disappointment of Super LIII.
He is also fully armed with a good team offensively and defensively. With WRs like Odell Beckham Jr. and Cooper Kupp, Stafford has been able to find passing outlets quite freely this season. He has also shown glimpses of resilience and clutch plays to get the job done.
