Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Kyler Murray has completed his rookie year and is all set to start his second season in the NFL. Meanwhile, as the offseason approaches, Madden has released footballer ratings for the latest edition of Madden’21. And it is safe to say that Murray isn’t too pleased.
Madden rated him 77, particularly lower than what the 22-year old was hoping for. In fact, the young quarterback, in a recent interview, admitted that he was expecting to cross the ‘OVR 80’ threshold.

Kyler Murray expected higher ratings
Murray appeared on First Take and expressed his disappointment about the Madden ratings. The video of the interview was later uploaded on Twitter.
He said, “Honestly, I thought y’all were joking when you said that. I ended the year at a 77. I can’t really say everything I want to say on the air right now, but I kind of take it as disrespect, but it is what it is.
“Like I said, I’ll let my play speak for itself, so hopefully, it’ll bump up during the year. I’m really shocked that I’m a 77 overall. I don’t really know what to say. Ah, man. That’s tough.
“At least (should have been) in the 80s. Someone in the Madden office is trying to hold me back.”
Murray’s displeasure is rather apparent, however, he tries to get his message across while exercising restraint.

Madden’21 rankings
Murray ranked 21st among all the quarterbacks. Which is rather surprising, considering his physical talents. In addition, Murray put forth a compelling performance in 2019. Hence, even the hosts of the show seemed surprised by Madden’s move.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes leads the pack with a 99 rating. Russell Wilson bagged a 97, while Lamar Jackson got 94. Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers came up with an 89 and ranked 6th.
