Back in March, Randi Mahomes took to social media to share the news of her mother, Debbie Bates, being hospitalized. Since then the worst has happened as Debbie Bates passed away in the afterlife after battling for her life bravely. Leaving behind teary-eyed family members, Debbie Bates’ legacy still remains the Mahomes clan’s foremost priority and Randi Mahomes is dealing with the loss in her own way.

A daughter’s efforts

The news of Debbie Bates passing away hasn’t hit anyone as hard as Randi Mahomes. The mother of 2x Super Bowl champion occasionally takes to social media to look back on some of the heartwarming and wholesome moments she spent with her mother over the years. Taking a similar approach, Randi Mahomes posted a picture of herself along with her daughter and her deceased mother Debbie Bates.

“Some moments are harder then others. I miss you momma, no matter what I could always count on you. I love you” read the caption along the post.

Along with posting commemorative threads for her mother, Randi Mahomes has also taken a noble method of honoring the times and life of Debbie Bates. Momma Mahomes has come up with a ‘GoFundMe’ campaign with the goal to give out a scholarship in her mother’s honor.

The end goal was to reach $15000 in donations, and while that target is yet to be achieved, $6345 has already been raised. As Randi Mahomes continues keeping her mother’s memories alive, Debbie Martin’s grandson is still on a mission to keep making his grandmother proud.

Patrick Mahomes’ career would not have been what it turned out to be had it not been for Debbie Bates. Even in his younger days, Mahomes would find solace as his grandmother showcased her unwavering confidence in his abilities. The same carried on to Mahomes’ professional career as well and Debbie Bates had her own unique tricks for pushing Mahomes to the next level.
