Stephen A. Smith appeared alongside Tom Brady and Jim Gray on the weekly ‘Let’s Go’ podcast. And there, he reminded Brady of an incident involving the QB’s daughter that offended Brady. So much so that he canceled his weekly morning appearance on a Boston radio show.
“I remember years ago some Boston radio host said something about your kid. And you called into the radio show and literally not a disrespectful tone not a disrespectful word. You simply said,’ that was crossing the line. And this regular weekly morning appearance that I do, I’m not gonna do that today. Because that offended me,'” Smith said on the podcast.

The ESPN analyst further said that there was no decent reporter who didn’t appreciate what Brady did in that situation.
“You don’t do something like this. There are certain lines that you do not cross,” Smith added.
The incident Smith talked about happened back in 2018 when the NFL legend was still with the New England Patriots. And Brady’s daughter, Vivian, was just five at that time.

When Brady stood up for his daughter
Tom Brady canceled his appearance on the ‘Kirk and Callahan’ radio show in January 2018 after one of the hosts at the station passed on an awful remark about his daughter, Vivian. While discussing Brady’s documentary ‘Tom vs Time’, WEEI FM host Alex Reimer called the QB’s daughter an “annoying little p***ant”. And the then-five-time Super Bowl champion didn’t like it one bit.
“I’ve always tried to come on and do a good job for you guys. So, it’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. With my daughter, or any child, they certainly don’t deserve that,” Brady said at the time. He said he will evaluate if he ever comes back on the show again. The legendary QB did return after a brief period.
