Yet, with Messi’s arrival in Miami, the spotlight may shift. As the city embraces the arrival of a soccer icon like Messi, the attention on another star athlete, Tyreek Hill, might diminish. With Messi’s arrival potentially placing him in a ‘beta mode,’ but how?

Messi’s recent signing with Inter Miami CF has solidified his position as the highest-paid player in the history of the league, with a two-and-a-half-year deal worth up to $60 million per season in wages. This lucrative contract brings the total value of his agreement to an impressive $125 million to $150 million in cash alone. Given Messi’s arrival, it raises the question of how this impacts the status of Hill.

In March 2022, Tyreek Hill made headlines when he was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins showed their commitment to Hill by offering him a substantial $120 million paycheck, solidifying his financial standing. Hill subsequently signed a four-year contract extension with the Dolphins, which included an impressive $72.2 million guaranteed.
