However, the happiness of that remarkable deal was short-lived, no thanks to the soccer legend, Lionel Messi.

A lot has changed since then, except for Mahomes’ contract. Leaving aside the soccer superstar, the 2x MVP can’t even compete with athletes from his own league in terms of net worth. With a net worth of only $40 million, the reigning league MVP is nowhere near the top of the list. Despite spending 7 years in the league, the NFL star has yet to amass a net worth that would land him in the top 10, with the last placeholder having a massive $145 million net worth.
