Aaron Rodgers has been with the Green Bay Packers for a long time. And after what seemed to be the perfect kickstart in the Super Bowl, Rodgers is yet to reach the stage again. Time after time, the Packers have bowed out of the playoffs, mostly at the NFC championship game. And according to one famous analyst, it is not all Rodgers’ fault.
Popular NFL analyst Stephen A Smith spoke on First Take about the Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers situation. He noted that Rodgers has been let down by the organization and the team on numerous occasions. So much so that Stephen A. couldn’t help but harken back to the times of Dan Marino to think which other QB had been let down this badly.

“The fact of the matter is I could make a legitimate argument. I could challenge anybody to try to come up with a quarterback who has been let down more by his supporting cast over his career than Aaron Rodgers. I want to know who that is. The fact of the matter is that we might have to go back to Dan Marino because he never had a defense for crying out loud.”
Aaron Rodgers looking for support
Smith further added that the Packers have been disappointing Rodgers for a very long time now. In Smith’s mind, not only have the Packers let Rodgers down, but they have asked too much of him. Aaron Rodgers has been asked to carry the load for the Packers all this time and has got nothing in return, even pointing to the ‘egregious’ contract situation that just took place.
“But you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody let down more by his supporting cast. The Green Bay Packers have not only asked Aaron Rodgers to be great. They’ve asked him to carry a franchise for the better part of his entire career. That’s been the situation he has been dealing with in Green Bay, which is why it’s so damn egregious that they don’t have any guaranteed money for him after giving him. $6.8 million signing bonus.”
