The 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on April 29th in Ohio, Cleveland. As always, this year’s draft event will be a 3-day affair. The theme for this year’s draft is definitely quarterbacks.

The likes of Trevor Lawrence (Clemson Tigers), Zach Wilson (BYU), Trey Lance (NDSU), Mac Jones (Alabama Crimson Tide Football), Kyle Trask (University of Florida), Sam Ehlinger (Texas Longhorns) and Justin Fields (Ohio State Buckeyes) are all expected to go in the 1st round of this year’s draft.

However, he has reportedly fallen behind BYU’s Zach Wilson. The latter is reportedly the first-choice option for Robert Saleh’s New York Jets.

Will the San Francisco 49ers move in for Justin Fields?

GM John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan made a strong statement by trading up to acquire the 3rd overall pick at the 2021 NFL Draft from Miami Dolphins last week.

They gave up 3 future 1st-round picks and a 2022 compensatory 3rd-round pick in order to move up the draft.

But critics and analysts remain unconvinced about Fields in the build-up to next month’s event. But popular American sports analyst and writer, Bill Simmons, opined otherwise.

“People keep nitpicking on Justin Fields, it’s so bizarre… if he drops to 15th the Patriots, I might need medical treatment they’ll need to carry me out of the house. What else do you look for in a QB,” Simmons said on The Ringer podcast.

But they were outplayed by Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team. The 49ers have an important decision to make at #3 overall, whether they move for Fields, it will be interesting to see how the situation works out for the under-pressure quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
