Nike and Colin Kaepernick have had a well documented collaboration. The mega show-maker and the serial news maker have developed many projects together. However, once there was a situation where Nike didn’t exactly align with Kaepernick.
Back in 2019, Nike released a shoe named ‘Betsy Ross.’ According to a source, Colin Kaepernick told Nike the shoes were offensive because the original, 13-star American flag designed by Betsy Ross has a controversial past.

Even though Nike’s endorser Colin Kaepernick was opposed to the idea of those shoes, they were still sold for expensive prices. The ‘Betsy Ross’ was sold for up to $2,500 Tuesday on the online sneaker auction site StockX.
Michael Stone, the chairman of Beanstalk Group talked about the shoes and said, “Products that get pulled from the market become collectibles. It’s the nature of the beast. You think everyone is going to send them back? Especially if there’s the opportunity to make $2,500?”
