Aaron Rodgers has been in the news since the first day of this year’s NFL draft. The Green Bay Packers star was reportedly left ‘shocked’ after team management decided to trade up and draft college quarterback Jordan Love in the first round this year. In a recent interview, A-Rod said that the first thing he did when he found about Love’s acquisition is poured himself a glass of tequila.

At 36, Rodgers is entering the latter stages of his career. However, he has previously stated that he plans to play until his forties. But will the arrival of Love put Rodgers’ starting spot in danger? A certain former Packers player doesn’t think so.

Brett Favre confident that Aaron Rodgers will prove doubters wrong in 2020

The recent segment of Complex’s Load Management featured NFL legend – Brett Favre. The former Packers legend spoke about Top five quarterbacks in the league, CBD management and of course, Aaron Rodgers. Here’s what he had to when asked about Rodgers’ prospects heading into the 2020 season.

“I would think each year, and Aaron and I have talked a fair amount the last few years and several times since the draft. Umm, there’s a lot of stress right now because there’s this uncertainty of ‘whether or not we’re playing, what does it look like? Am I going to have all my guys?…you know, total new, uncharted territory for everybody, even the fans.”

“I think, from a stress standpoint, after last year which was a great year for Aaron, umm, they almost got to the Super Bowl with nobody….Now he’s at the age I was when we drafted him. 35-36, in that area. You know you start realizing that ‘the end is much closer than what you pictured when you came in.’ He finally got a little dose of, you know, a new regime,” Favre said in the Complex’s Load Management podcast.

“When Aaron was drafted, I was the only guy from that team from initial time that I had joined the Packers and I say that from a coach and a player standpoint… I say that because sometimes I felt like the odd man out even though I’d been here longer than everyone.”

“I felt like the new guy, the odd guy. He’s starting to get a little sense of that, you know, new coach comes in, drafts a young quarterback. By no means does Aaron feel threatened by that but it’s just kind of a slap in the face like…you look around and you go ‘All the guys I started with are gone’,” Favre concluded.
