Dak Prescott will have a big chip on his shoulder when he suits up for the Dallas Cowboys in 2021. Recently signing a new bumper contract with the franchise, the pressure will be on Prescott to live up to the price tag.
With Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitting that he “overpaid” for the QB, Prescott will need to deliver day in, day out. But NFL analyst Skip Bayless feels that Prescott will have to perform for another reason apart from the high expectations that come with the price tag.
Bayless went as far to say that the QB will have to emulate last season’s MVP Aaron Rodgers to have a shot at helping his side make the Playoffs thanks to some new faces in the NFC East.

Dak Prescott needs to be in the MVP conversation
During a segment of Undisputed, the NFL analyst, who admittedly is a massive Cowboys fan, said that for his team to make the Playoffs, QB Dak Prescott is going to have to channel his inner Aaron Rodgers.
“My quarterback for my Dallas Cowboys next year will have to be regular season Aaron Rodgers for my team to make the playoffs. That’s what he’s gonna have to be and that’s a lot,” said Bayless.
Further commenting on why he must do so, the analyst said that it is the least that is expected from a quarterback in a division which is ever improving.
“I believe Dak is at least going to have to be an MVP finalist. He’s gonna have to be in the top couple going every week, all the way home for for my team to have a chance to win in what is a much upgraded NFC East,” he added.
Cowboys face an uphill task in an improving NFC East
Backing his statement, Bayless cited examples as to how the other franchises in the division were upgrading for the new season.
“A small little move I saw yesterday. The Washington Football Team added Adam Humphries, who I’ve always liked a lot as a slot receiver…
“They’ve got Fitzmagic now, who you just is going to have some big games. They had the number two defense last year in points allowed,” said Bayless while making a case for the WFT.

“The New York Giants had a top 10 defense last year and they added Kenny Golladay. I assume they’re gonna have Saquan back maybe at full speed. So they’ll just be better, right? Philadelphia too will figure out a way to get better,” he added.
