The Aaron Rodgers trade is one of the most anticipated events of this offseason. After all, a future Hall of Famer is leaving the franchise that brought him to the NFL after 18 long years. Months into the saga, the question of the timeline of the actual trade still remains unclear. The scenario is even more complex after Odell Beckham Jr found a team for himself after a long search. But the Rogers deal between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets still remains in limbo.
Almost a month has passed since the QB made his intention of playing for the Jets clear to everyone. Questions remain and just compound with each passing day till the draft on April 27. With just 16 days to D-Day, time may be running out for the deal.

Time may be running out as far as the Aaron Rodgers deal is concerned. More so after Odell Beckham Jr, who was also a Jets target, went to the Baltimore Ravens. And according to radio personality Craig Carton, it has to happen before the draft starts in just over two weeks from now.
“I know for a fact, that if it does not get done prior to the draft, Aaron Rodgers will not be a New York Jet,” the self-professed Jets fan said on ‘The Carton Show.’

Carton believes the Jets GM Joe Douglas’ job is on the line if he can’t deliver Rodgers to the franchise. They have already lost OBJ and wouldn’t want to be the team that loses both him and Rodgers in a single off-season.

The Ravens have signed the wide receiver on a single-year deal worth a whopping $18 million, with $15 million of it coming in guarantees. He had a visit to the Jets scheduled for a day after the deal came to light. So will the New York franchise get its prime target?
Eyes on the prize
The Jets have made Aaron Rodgers their target number one this offseason. They plan to end their long streak without a playoff appearance and for that, the franchise is building a super team. And who better than a four-time NFL MVP to lead them on their journey. Rodgers has already stated that he intends to be a Jet. The Jets and the Packers are negotiating a deal for the trade but may differ in value for the QB. But the Jets GM is confident of getting the deal done.

Joe Douglas’ confidence may mean that a deal is already in place and both the franchises are just waiting for the draft. Or he might be just playing to the crowd, as Carton suggested. Whatever may be the case, the deal has to happen fast. Will it go through? Do share your opinions in the comments section.
