Tom Brady may have retired but he will compete with his former foe off the football field as well. The legendary QB has met and vanquished many competitors during his 23 years in the NFL. But none comes close than his foe during the game that has an eternal Brady stamp. Six years after the fateful 28-3 night, the opposing QB has entered the competing territory with the $375 million Fox man.
Matt Ryan is an NFL veteran and has been around the league for quite some time. But fans know him best for losing to Brady after leading most of the Super Bowl game by a huge margin. Ryan might have lost the Vince Lombardi to Brady on the field, but that won’t stop him from being his competitor again. And the former Atlanta Falcons QB is entering the field that Brady has been putting off since his retirement.

So as luck would have it, Matt Ryan has joined CBS Network for its NFL coverage. The veteran QB announced the decision through a social media post. But he also clarified that he would not retire from the game yet.
“Excited to join the @NFLonCBS family! Looking forward to breaking down the game this season. P.S. – this is not a retirement post,” Ryan announced on Twitter.

Ryan is a free agent currently after the Indianapolis Colts released him at the end of the 2022 season. They have gone to pick Anthony Richardson in the draft this year to be their QB for the future. So maybe until he gets a new team, Ryan is officially an NFL analyst. And if he decides to stay on the field for longer, he might end up encountering his Super Bowl LI foe, Tom Brady.
In competition with Tom Brady again?
2016 was the best season for Matt Ryan in his NFL career so far. He took the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl. At one point, it looked like the Falcons and their QB had every answer for the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. But TB12 had other ideas.

Brady led a remarkable Patriots comeback in that game. Down 3-28 at one point, the Patriots won 34-28. It was the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. Ryan lost his chance to get a ring and the time went on.
When the seven-time Super Bowl champion retired, he had a broadcasting deal with Fox worth $375 million. So if Ryan remains with CBS for long enough, he will have to compete with Brady again. Who will win it this time when the two veterans collide again, although in another field now?
