The Philadelphia Eagles fanbase is on cloud nine as their marquee quarterback Jalen Hurts extended his time with the franchise. Hurts signed a five-year $255 Million contract that includes $179 million guaranteed. The signing ushered in a new era for the storied franchise as Hurts follows in the steps of Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes into an elite club.
While Hurts has secured himself a fortune with his extended commitment to the Philadelphia Eagles, his priorities have not shifted. Speaking during a recent news conference at NovaCare Complex days after signing the historic contract, Hurts eluded to the one thing that has stayed the same.

Going into the 2022-2023 season, there were a ton of doubts lingering around Jalen Hurts. Even his rookie year saw Hurts come in as a replacement for veteran quarterback Carson Wentz, and not many were appreciative of the move. But the dominant performance led by Jalen Hurts shattered the stigma many had developed around the young phenom. Despite finishing second behind the Kansas City Chiefs the Philadelphia Eagles showed glimpses of the future and their recent investment in Hurts exemplifies their confidence in his abilities.
But as it appears, Jalen Hurts is not contemptuous of just being in the Super Bowl game but rather wishes to emerge as a victor.

Accompanied by the Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, Jalen Hurts spoke on his plans for the future and the words must be sweet music to every loyal Eagles fan.
“Money is nice. Championships are better” were the sentiments echoed by Hurts during his public appearance.
While his immediate future seems secure from a financial standpoint, Jalen Hurts is aware of the barbershop conversations. If Hurts wants to get his seat reserved at the elite QB table, he has to win a championship and looks like that will be the next stepping stone for Hurts and the Eagles.

The making of a champion?
Hurts appeared with his entourage spearheaded by his girlfriend Bryonna “Bry” Burrow and agent Nicole Lynn. In addition to showcasing his championship pedigree, Hurts reflected back on the impact Alabama has had on his younger self, and what the rabid Philly fanbase means to him after almost four years in the city.
Hurts enlightened many one his record-breaking contract, and his off-the-field endeavors but the primary focus remained one of love for the game. He went on to profess his eternal love for the game and did it all with his team watching him from the sidelines.
