Losing a loved one is never easy to deal with, whether expected or unexpected. Superstar Quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ family has been dealing with such a loss in their lives for the past 6 months. His grandmother Debbie Bates Martin passed away in April after dealing with several health conditions at 72.

QB’s mother Randi Mahomes has been dealing with this pain for some time now, but as all of us understand in our own time, it’s better to celebrate life, than to mourn its passing. She too has embarked on the journey of celebrating the life of her mother.

Small railroad town leads to big things

The highest-paid player in the history of the NFL’s grandmother was born in a small East Texas town by the name of Overton. She lived most of her life in and around the town itself. Randi Mahomes visited Overton at the festivity, with the town celebrating its 150th anniversary since being founded. She posted a story on her Instagram about the merriments which she attended with family members.

Debbie lived a joyous and giving life. She was a God-fearing woman and inculcated Kansas City Chiefs’ Mahomes in the same faith. Mahomes has pointed out his graciousness towards God several times, in good and bad times. A trait he picked up from his departed granny as did his mother.

Life carries on, waits for nobody

Randi Mahomes for months was having a tough time dealing with the pressures and hardships that come with losing someone, especially if it’s their mom.

Randi, though, was in a cheerful mood as she attended the celebrations at Overton, where the town held a car show, performances, and a parade. Patrick Mahomes was understandably missing as he trained ahead of his first game on the road this season against the Jacksonville Jaguars, set to take place tonight.

The Two-time Super Bowl winner would love to get back to winning ways after losing the first game against The Lions. Especially after the squad will be bolstered by the addition of Chris Jones and Travis Kelce. Both of whom missed the season opener. What’s your take on it?
