Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 260 pounds, tight end Devin Asiasi was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals from the New England Patriots. Asiasi had initially been drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Seeking to bolster their tight end depth, the Bengals secured Asiasi through the waiver wire after the final round of training camp cuts.

In recent reports, the Cincinnati Bengals have decided to waive tight end Devin Asiasi. The move is part of the roster cuts being made by the Bengals, as confirmed by NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Despite the fact that Asiasi was preparing to enter his second season with the Bengals, he has been let go as the team narrows down its roster to the final 53 players.

Joe Burrow and his teammates have parted ways with offensive weapon Devin Asiasi. At 26 years old, Asiasi will now be on the lookout for a new team or a potential role on a practice squad. The former third-round draft pick has accumulated merely four receptions and 44 receiving yards over the course of 21 career games. Notably, his record for the 2023 season consists of just one reception for two yards.

In the 2022 season, Asiasi participated in 12 regular-season games, taking part in 183 offensive snaps, albeit with limited involvement on special teams. As per the Bengals’ official website, his primary usage was as a pass-protecting tight end. He managed to make two receptions for a total of five yards on December 24 in a game against New England.

Furthermore, he was on the field for 18 offensive snaps during the postseason, making appearances in the Divisional Playoff against Buffalo and the AFC Championship against Kansas City.

Every release of Bengals to trim the roster to 53

According to reports from Sports Illustrated regarding the Bengals’ roster cuts, the team, along with all other NFL teams, must reduce their roster to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. As per the latest updates, the Bengals released quarterback Trevor Siemian on Tuesday. This decision leaves Joe Burrow and Jake Browning as the remaining quarterbacks, as Siemian was unable to secure the backup quarterback position following his signing in the offseason.

Additionally, cornerback Allan George and safety Mike Thomas have also been released, aligning with the league-wide trend of teams finalizing their rosters. In accordance with a report by Ben Baby, the Bengals are parting ways with offensive tackle Hakeem Adeniji, based on information from a reliable source.

Furthermore, as reported by Jordan Schultz on “X,” the Bengals are waiving quarterback Reid Sinnett; however, they expressed interest in retaining him for their practice squad.
