Tom Brady is easing into the English soccer scene. The NFL star announced on August 3 that he was taking the reins of Birmingham City FC as its Chairman of the new Advisory Board. The star QB expressed his determination and enthusiasm to collaborate with the ”iconic club”, worth $44 Million.

Upon announcing his latest venture, the former QB, however, admitted that English football is new territory for him. But Brady is confident about the value he brings to the table a wealth of experience from an illustrious career. As he learns the ropes of the English football scene, Brady shares his insight for the 34 million who shares his curiosity of the sport.

Brady explores the new territory

Brady took to Twitter, to shower his wishes on his new ‘team’, as the Blues head to the Carabao Cup, an annual knockout competition in men’s domestic football in England.

Sharing the official post of the FC, Brady wrote  One of the first things an American has to learn about football is the different competitions. Carabao Cup night coming up, here we go boys! @BCFC “.

Brady, who recognized that ‘he has ‘got a lot to learn’ about English sport is doing his part. However he does have a lot to contribute, “I do know a few things about winning, and I think they may translate pretty well. … I know success starts with the work put in when the world isn’t watching. I know a team is nothing without the city that shows up and stands behind it.” Nonetheless, the NFL legend’s presence holds immense promise for the team. 

The club looks forward to a promising future

The NFL star’s foray into the English sports, especially a second tier club is a major win, as Tom Wagner,owner of the soccer club, hailed the move as “statement of intent,” as he stressed on Brady’s ‘’extensive expertise’’ that is gonna exercise a tangible benefit on the team.

The club,which has been struggling and has remained outside the coveted Premier League since 2011, also acknowledges how the Star QB s entry also impacts its marketing efforts and popularity.

“In addition, Brady will work closely with the Board and the management team on global marketing efforts and the identification of new commercial partnership opportunities for the Club,” the club said in a statement. And the club can relieve as its popularity is on a rise with Brady coming on board, after being nonexisatnt on the US market before his entry. The club has set its sights on a bright future, with the NFL legend at its helm.
