The offseason is a busy time for the Wilson household. On one hand, husband and quarterback, Russell Wilson prepares for offseason workouts after a secret surgery. On the other, Ciara Wilson is riding high on the wave of her new song ‘Da Girls’ and its massive success.

The Grammy-winning R&B singer and songwriter released the anthem for female empowerment on March 24 along with the all-girls lineup music video accompanying it. And both audio and video releases have blown through the blockbuster charts. Ciara recently shared some dollar sign numbers.

When the founder of Lita By Ciara released the promo and teaser for her new single ‘Da Girls’, there was quite a lot of criticism about the message of the song. Fans found her single womanhood message unreliable since she is married to a $245 million NFL quarterback herself.

However, Ciara doesn’t give much importance to the haters. She clarified her stance with a photo and caption saying, “me watching you all missing the point.” “A woman’s independence is not dependent on their relationship. Keep rocking your crown Queens,” she added in the caption.

Well then, how is the song doing in the charts? ‘Da Girls’, produced by Derrick Milano, OG Parker, Romano, tenroc and Mike Woods, came out under Ciara’s Beauty Marks Entertainment production Label. And the Cici number ranks third on the R&B iTunes chart. The ‘Da Girls’ video directed by Sara Lacombe and Ciara’s longtime acquaintance, Jamaica Craft, has gone a step further off the song and ranked at the top of the music video charts. The video is also trending on TikTok and other social media sites, as revealed by Ciara in one of her Instagram stories.

Russell Wilson can’t groove to the song because he had a secret surgery

According to the reports from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, former Seattle Seahawks signal-caller and Super Bowl champion, Russell Wilson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to correct a recurring issue that has bothered him for quite some time. However, his availability for off-season training activities and pre-season is not a concern since Danger Russ is already throwing the pigskin again.

Newly appointed Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton refused to address Russell’s surgery. “Injury-wise. I’ll keep you posted. That’s something we’re probably not going to talk about, probably ever,” Payton said, as per Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette. With no regular season games until September, Payton didn’t feel the need to share Wilson’s surgery details.

Russ had a tough season, possibly the worst of his entire career. His pass completion rate plummeted to an all-time personal low of 60.5 percent. He threw only 16 touchdowns and got intercepted 11 times, which is far from his usual performance. To add to the pressure, many insiders believe that this season could be Wilson’s final chance to prove himself in the Orange Crush team. Without a doubt, he needs to step up his game in the upcoming season, or else Payton may be forced to consider other options.
