The game of football is one of the fine margins. One play could make or break your night. Coach Mike Zimmer and the Minnesota Vikings were at the unfortunate receiving end of lady fortune on the weekend. The NFC North franchise succumbed to the narrowest of losses against Arizona Cardinals in their Week 2 clash.
Despite a dominant performance from the likes of QB Kirk Cousins, RB Dalvin Cook and WRs Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, the Vikings succumbed to a 33-34 loss at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday.
The game would have ended on a whole different note had Minnesota kicker, Greg Joseph, converted his team’s final field goal effort. But as fate would have it, it wasn’t meant to be.

Minnesota Vikings HC Mike Zimmer reflects on Joseph’s missed field goal
Greg Joseph: "That one's on me. In that moment, no one felt that more than me. But I signed up for this [as an NFL kicker]. Looking forward to being in that position again and coming through for the team, because no one deserved that win more than the guys on the field." pic.twitter.com/B646tQ0Vc2

Speaking to the media after the game, Minnesota Vikings HC Mike Zimmer revealed he expected Greg Joseph to convert the effort which would have changed the outcome of the game altogether.
“I felt good about that kick. I know he missed the extra point earlier, but it’s kind of like that. He’s been kicking good, we’re indoors, it’s a perfect surface. I’m thinking, ‘This should be an easy one here.’ “

“We’re probably two plays away from being 2-0. We’ll just keep grinding, keep fighting, and we’ll just keep going from there,” Zimmer said, via the Minnesota Star Tribune.
The Vikings put up a strong show against the Cardinals. However, they remain winless after two narrow losses at the infancy of their 2021 NFL campaign.
Next up for them is Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3. This will not be an easy game by any means. Can the Vikings end their winless run this weekend? Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
