The ghost of his past still haunts 76-year-old ex-NFL star OJ Simpson. 29 years after one of the most infamous trials in American history, it is not easy for The Juice to get over the controversial affair. And after also being accused of being its perpetrator, as he continues to face jabs of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ton Goldman now and then.
Now, Simpson is once again on the receiving end of the horrifying incident that took place almost three decades ago. This time, a stand-up comedian mocks the dramatic death incident that shocked the country to its core back in the 90s.

Authorities arrested The Juice on charges of two first-degree murders after becoming the prime suspect in the death of his ex-wife and her friend. They were stabbed to death in Los Angeles. OJ Simpson was then involved in the iconic slow-speed car chase, where he hid in the back of a car driven by Cowlings with a gun to his head. The car chase lasted for hours, with around 95 million people turning on their televisions to watch it being broadcasted live. And now, a comedian recollects the incident once again in one of his stand-up shows.

Comedian Robert Mustaq John recently shared a clip on Twitter of himself. In the clip we see John making fun of the Simpson trial while making a cheeky “should be in jail”, comment before ending the clip. He accompanied the tweet with a caption that read, “OJ Simpson was not found guilty” followed by three laughing emojis. This seems to point to the fact that the court found OJ Simpson not guilty of the murders on October 3, 1995.
And this is not the first time we’ve seen comedians use the Simpson incident to establish a base for creating jokes. Last year, we saw Hollywood actor and comedian Chris Rock receive severe backlash for a joke which was dubbed distasteful in nature.

During one of his stand-up shows in Phoenix last year, Chris Rock was talking about how he was offered to host the Oscars this year after the infamous Will Smith slapping incident in 2022 because of his ‘G.I Jane’ joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The comedian talked about refusing to host this year’s Oscars.
He then went on to make a comparison about how going back to the Oscars would be like asking Nicole Brown Simpson to go back to the restaurant where she left her glasses before being stabbed to death. This comparison angered fans, who felt it was insensitive in nature. And they went on to lash out at Chris Rock on social media following the comments he made.
With OJ Simpson trying to move on from the ghosts of his past, he will be looking forward to the journey his future holds for him in the days ahead, while trying not to be affected by the jabs taken at one of the most trying times of his life.
