A major Injury crisis at New Orleans
Last week, the New Orleans Saints garnered attention for all the right reason when they stunned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a shutdown 9-0 win. Saints fans across the world heralded it as a moment of turnaround but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Within a couple of days after the historic win, a COVID crisis outbreak happened in the Saints camp which has potentially derailed their campaign
According to the latest reports, the following players have been put on the NFL’s Reserve/COVID 19 list by the New Orleans Saints – Guard James Carpenter, linebacker Kaden Elliss, safety Jeff Heath, quarterback Taysom Hill, defensive end Jalyn Holmes, safety Malcolm Jenkins, tackle Jordan Mills, defensive tackle Christian Ringo, quarterback Trevor Siemian, tight end Adam Trautman, and tight end Juwan Johnson.
Former NFL stars Drew Brees and Philip Rivers were contacted by the New Orleans Saints
Losing both their starting QBs at this crucial point called for immediate signings. They started off by signing journeyman QB Blake Bortles but even that is not enough. They can’t completely rely on a rookie QB (Ian Book) and a player with negligible match practice.

Another signing is crucial which is why the Saints apparently decided to contact Drew Brees and Philip Rivers, former NFL stars. As per Nick Underhill of WWLTV, Brees respectfully declined the offer by sending a photo of him enjoying golf. The status of Phillips, on the other hand, is still unclear.
